Wu Shu-yuan

Born in Tainan in 1974, Wu Shu-yuan holds a Master of Urbanism and Landscape Architecture from the AA School of Architecture in the UK. A landscape architect and artist, he is the founder and design director of Motif Planning & Design Consultants. Inspired by the principles of “Landscape Urbanism,” Wu is dedicated to creating an "island wilderness" through the use of Taiwan’s native plants, and is exploring a wilderness aesthetic characterized by natural processes and organic growth. His major works include the Taichung World Flora Exposition and the Yangmingshan American Military Club. His work has received international recognition, including awards from the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) and the London Design Awards.
