About the work
A city is never formed in a single moment. It is instead an enormous vessel of accumulated time, and is constantly overwritten, revised, erased, and remembered. Layers of space, governance, memory, power, and human events intersect across generations, creating a dense temporal and spatial stratigraphy that cannot be disentangled. The city we encounter today is thus a transient, ever-evolving long-term assemblage of historical traces that continue to shape one another.
