One Hundred Meetings Before the Collective

This work emerges from Chen Yi-che’s reflection on the “Ten Years of Tiantai.” From No. 5, Lane 18 project (2014-2016) to Rooftop Studio (2016-present), he has continually connected heterogeneous artistic and cultural communities, cultivating a domain that brings together work, gathering, and informal archives. Through his efforts to sustain spaces of friendship outside institutional structures, he has received the affectionate nickname of “Tudigong,” after the Earth God. As this work developed, the actual building at No. 5, Lane 18 project faced demolition. Marking a decade of time, Chen pays tribute to a disappearing physical space, while looking back on past encounters and fragile yet unforgettable friendships.
