Penetration and Connection: Prototype Art

About the work
This exhibition section revisits States in Progress—Penetration and Connection, presented by Prototype Art as part of the Co4 Taiwan Avant-Garde Documents Exhibition in 2004. Through timelines, objects, and archival materials, it reconstructs the studio-like environment in which artists gathered, exchanged ideas, and developed their creative ideas. The notion of a “Micro-Watershed” evokes a small yet fluid artistic landscape, presenting an art environment that remained unrefined and yet to take a definitive form. This state of indeterminacy is regarded as a prototype of artistic emergence—a space open to connections, encounters of purpose, and the formation of collective consciousness.
