Time Coconut in the Living Room

The metalworking factory run by the artist’s father’s generation forms part of her childhood memories, while a potted coconut palm in the family living room brings to mind relatives who have passed away. Time Coconut in the Living Room combines two forms through large-scale folded paper: the vertical and horizontal geometry of sheet metal and the lively lines of coconut leaves. Pencil drawings lend the work a metallic texture—weighty with family experience, yet as light as time embodied in plant life.
