Gods of Old and Late Stage Capitalism, 2025
01 Tainan Art Museum

The work comprises twelve woven pieces corresponding to the twelve months of 2020, and form a personal chronicle of the artist’s year. From the Australian bushfires, the COVID-19 pandemic, political rhetoric and misinformation, to the Black Lives Matter movement and the U.S. presidential election, the series documents dramatic shifts in global affairs and local politics. It also incorporates personal memories, including the artist’s grandfather’s death from cancer and his fondness for knit slippers. Through weaving, the artist responds to the events of her time, interweaving public affairs, political critique, and personal experience to reflect on a year marked by uncertainty, loss, and profound change.
