Oh! Siubi!Mature Women x Fiber Art Co-Creation Project
About the work
Tainan is a major center of Taiwan’s textile and fiber industries, and these industries and craft traditions have not only served as important means of livelihood for women, but have also provided a source of emotional and spiritual sustenance. This collaborative project, developed by faculty and students of the Graduate Institute of Applied Arts at Tainan National University of the Arts in collaboration with The Third Act Collection (Danu Style Community), transforms personal stories and the literature of Yeh Shih-tao into textile-based works. Expanding upon the concepts of circulation and gathering, the project brings people and places together through a procession carrying large flags, and creates a collective platform letting women's voices be heard.
