A Wild-goose Chase after Shallot
About the work
Co-developed by NCKU ECHO, Hao Wen-sin, and Cai Ya-zhu, the project takes a red onion field in Sanliao Bay, Beimen District, Tainan, as its point of departure. It connects agricultural production, consumption, policy, civic participation, and bird ecology as a way of reconfiguring relationships between people, the environment, and society. The project unfolds through planting, pot-making, and writing workshops, with the results of long-term field research presented in the Japanese Patriotic Women's Association building. The wooden house in the exhibition space incorporates memories of Typhoon Danas and village impressions, symbolizing the interconnected network of local life, industry, ecology, and society.
