About the work

Addressing “the everyday life of deities,” the work explores the relationship between Lord Tiger, local life, and contemporary communities. Drawing on field research at seven temples, the artist has transformed local beliefs and diverse images of Lord Tiger into paintings. Depicting children's hide-and-seek, happy play, and tending to Lord Tiger’s claws, these warm and playful scenes transform the deity from a forbidding sacred figure into a gentle guardian embedded in everyday life, local memory, and emotional bonds.
